their idea.

• Document pros and cons.
• Establish evaluation criteria and evaluate ideas against the same criteria.

bathrooms, and open floor plan on the first-floor with a budget of $300,000, within the next
one-year.
• Statement of Work (SoW):
• Refer to week #2 materials for statement of work.
• SOW should describe the work that needs to be achieved.
• It should be detailed enough so the reader/responding party understands the scope of work. • This
section should be more than just a few sentences; it depends of how in-depth the description is.

PART 2 (CONTD.)
• Type of Contract:
• What is the suggested type of contract for this project idea and why
• Make sure the team describes ‘why’ for full credit for this section
• Teams can go further than just Firm Fixed price (FFP) or Cost Reimbursement contracts and
specify Cost Plus Fee, Time & Materials etc. But make sure to provide justification.
• Deliverables:
• This section should include a list of deliverables that would be produced over the course of the project
including through the closing phase
• Typically required deliverables are listed in a table with following elements:
• Deliverable name
• Deliverable description
• Producer of the deliverable
• Approver of the deliverable
• Timeline when the deliverable should be produced (for lack of a schedule at this stage, it is generally
mentioned for example, 30 days within NTP where NTP is Notice to Proceed (authorization to start
project)
PART 2 (CONTD.)
• Approvals:
• The deliverable should have an approval section at the end.
• It is not expected that you physically sign the document (you can if you want), but putting
initials against your name in that section is fine.
• I would like the team to include the following statement in the approval section before
listing everyone’s names.
Include this statement:
“I affirm that I have contributed equally to this project deliverable, including putting forth the
project idea, participating the in discussions and decision-making, and developing the
